Prof. Maciej Banach, MD, is Vice-Rector for Collegium Medicum at KUL and Head of the Department of Preventive Cardiology and Lipidology at the Medical University of Lodz. A globally renowned scholar, he ranks among the top 1% of cited scientists and holds five honorary doctorates. His clinical and research expertise spans lipidology and preventive cardiology, with leadership roles including former Undersecretary of State in Poland's Ministry of Science.
His research addresses cardiovascular risk stratification, lipid metabolism disorders, and population health strategies. He founded the Polish Lipid Association and collaborates internationally with institutions like Johns Hopkins University.
