Dr. Machelle Skinner is an Assistant Professor at Northwest Missouri State University, teaching in the RN to BSN program and developing the MSN program. With a nursing career spanning ambulatory care, emergency nursing, school nursing, and primary care, she has served as a nurse educator for nine years in roles including clinical instructor, simulation lab manager, and RN to BSN coordinator. She holds a DNP from the University of Missouri Kansas City (2017), MSN from Liberty University (2012), and BSN from Missouri Western State University (2005).
Her research focuses on nursing education, community health promotion, and care for vulnerable populations. She emphasizes organizational skills and self-motivation for online learners, utilizing Canvas, email, and the Remind App for student engagement.
