M.J. Barrett is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Environment and Sustainability at the University of Saskatchewan. Her work focuses on Intuitive Interspecies Communication (IIC), transformative sustainability education, and bridging Indigenous and Western knowledges. She holds a PhD in Education (University of Regina), Master of Environmental Studies (York University), and degrees from Harvard University.

Research explores IIC as a tool for deepening human-animal connections, advancing sustainability education, and supporting Indigenous wellness.
