MARTIN TRESGUERRES

MARTIN TRESGUERRES is a Professor in the Department of Marine Biology at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. His research focuses on the physiological mechanisms underlying marine organism survival, with emphasis on acid-base regulation, ion transport, and symbiotic relationships. He holds a Diploma from the University of Buenos Aires and a PhD from the University of Alberta.

Research interests include pH regulation in aquatic organisms, cellular signaling pathways, and symbioses in marine environments. Key studies explore coral reef resilience to environmental stressors, symbiotic interactions in jellyfish and cephalopods, and ionocyte function in fish.
