Maria Matilde Portales Raga is a permanent faculty member at Universitat Politècnica de València, holding the academic rank of Professor within the Department of Didactics of Plastic Expression under the Faculty of Teacher Training.

Her research focuses on educational innovation through multimodal approaches, integrating literature, art, foreign languages, and technology. She leads projects related to:

She actively participates in two research groups:
- LiTerart: Multimodal Education and Multiliteracy through Literature, Art, Foreign Languages, and Learning Technologies
- TALIS: Teaching and Acquisition of Solidarity and Intercultural Competences through Languages and Literature
