M. Wright

M. Wright is an Associate Professor in Design and Computation Arts at Concordia University, specializing in typography, publication design, exhibition design, and feminist/queer histories. She co-founded the art and design collective AK/OK with Kate Jarboe, whose work has been exhibited globally and distributed by Printed Matter (NYC).

• Education: MFA in Visual Communication Design, School of the Art Institute of Chicago; AB in Comparative Literature, Princeton University.

Her research explores intersections of design, archives, and participatory creation, with recognition from Type Directors Club, Print magazine, and AIGA 50 Books/50 Covers. Her book designs are held in permanent collections at the National Design Archives (US) and Columbia University’s Butler Library.

Recent publications span diverse domains, including pediatric emergency care (neonatal resuscitation, ingested coins), trauma surgery (prehospital thoracotomy, surgical safety checklists), and developmental psychology (autism screening, theory of mind). These reflect interdisciplinary collaborations bridging design methodology with medical and social sciences.
