M. Ayaz Naseem, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Education at Concordia University since 2017. His research focuses on peace education, social media, feminist theory, decolonial theory, and democratic citizenship education. He has held visiting positions at Quaid-i-Azam University, Pakistan, and was the Georg Arnhold Research Professor in Germany (2013-14).

His work examines how textbooks and curricula shape identities, conflict, and peacebuilding, particularly in South Asia. He explores social media as a space for peace education, critiquing knowledge imperialism and neoliberal educational frameworks.
Dr. Naseem has secured major grants from SSHRC, FQRSC, and the Georg Eckert Institute. He co-chairs the Peace Education Special Interest Group at CIES and serves on academic review panels for universities and foundations.
