Sergey Lysenko is a Professor at the University of Lorraine, affiliated with the Institut Élie Cartan de Lorraine (IECL) and the GDR Algebraic and Geometric Lie Theory. His research centers on the geometric Langlands program and its connections to representation theory.
- Research Interests: Geometric Langlands program, automorphic sheaves, metaplectic groups, theta-lifting, geometric aspects of representation theory, and Satake equivalence.
- Students: Supervised three PhD students: Banafsheh Farang Hariri (2012), Lizao Ye (2019), and Ruotao Yang (2020), with ongoing collaborations in geometric representation theory.
- Publications: Over 30 works focusing on geometric Langlands, quantum groups, and automorphic periods, including key contributions to metaplectic Whittaker categories and theta-lifting.
- Grants: Coordinator of the ANR VARGEN project (Varieties of characters and generalizations) from 2013–2018.
- Teaching: Taught courses in algebra, topology, and bilinear algebra at University of Lorraine.
Scientific Leadership: Active in seminars and workshops on geometric Langlands, including the Nancy–Paris 2010 seminar. Member of the geometry team at IECL and GDR Algebraic and Geometric Lie Theory.
