Lynsey Walker-Smith is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader at York St John University's York Business School. With over 20 years of corporate experience specializing in Talent Management and Change Management, she brings extensive industry knowledge to her academic role. She joined York St John University in 2018, initially as a Guest Lecturer, and has since taken on significant teaching and leadership responsibilities within the Business School.
Lynsey holds a BA (Hons), an MA in Leading Innovation and Change, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her academic qualifications complement her extensive professional background, which includes working at director level in organizations ranging from SMEs to global consultancies.
Lynsey's research focuses on contemporary workplace issues, particularly Employee Engagement and Workforce Performance, Leadership and Management within the 21st Century, and the efficacy of change management models. Her current PhD research examines 'The Change Management Skills Requirement of Band 8d Managers (Non Clinical) Within NHS Primary Care,' reflecting her ongoing interest in practical applications of management theory.
Her recent publications demonstrate a clear focus on organizational behavior in higher education and business contexts, with particular attention to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on academic institutions and employee engagement. Her work also explores the relationship between HRM practices and innovation within organizations, showing a consistent thread of research into effective management strategies.
