Dr. Lynne Wiltse is a Professor in the Department of Elementary Education at the University of Alberta. She holds a BEd from the University of Victoria, and MEd and PhD from the University of Alberta. Her research focuses on multicultural children’s literature, social justice education, and minority language pedagogy, particularly in Indigenous contexts. She has been recognized with awards including the 2012 ATA Educational Research Award and the UKLA/Wiley-Blackwell Award (2016).

Her research emphasizes incorporating students’ cultural and linguistic resources into literacy practices. Current projects include a SSHRC-funded study on social justice pedagogy through postcolonial literature. She teaches courses such as EDEL 305, EDEL 409, and graduate-level classes on children’s literature and language arts. She also collaborates with Keyano College in the Collaborative Bachelor of Education Program.
