Lynne Falconer

Lynne Falconer serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Aquaculture, University of Stirling, where she leads significant research initiatives addressing critical challenges in aquaculture. As a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow, she directs the project 'Addressing the ability of marine aquaculture to respond to climate change using systems thinking and precision-based frameworks.'

Her research interests span aquaculture planning, environmental interactions, and climate change impacts on fish and shellfish production. Dr. Falconer specializes in developing data-driven models and decision support systems to enhance sustainable aquaculture practices globally. Her work integrates spatial modeling, GIS technologies, and systems thinking approaches to address complex challenges in both freshwater and marine environments.

Her academic journey began with a PhD at the University of Stirling completed in 2014, followed by postdoctoral positions at the University of Dundee and return to Stirling where she has established herself as a leader in aquaculture systems research. Dr. Falconer has extensive experience working with diverse fish and shellfish species across global environments, contributing to evidence-based policy and industry practices.
