Lynn Sondag

Lynn Sondag is a Professor of Art at the Dominican University of California, affiliated with the School of Liberal Arts and Education and the Department of Art, Art History, and Design. As Honors Program Director, she integrates community engagement into her artistic practice, focusing on justice, sustainability, and environmental relationships.

• Education: MFA from California College of the Arts (1997), BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design (1990).

Her research interests span community-engaged art, visual literacy, and craftsmanship, often involving collaborative projects in public spaces. From 2002, she has taught full-time, emphasizing student-artist-audience dynamics to foster critical thinking and creativity. Her recent works include watercolor explorations of natural luminosity and large-scale murals addressing cultural diversity.
