Lynn Mandarano is an Associate Professor in the Department of Planning and Community Development at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University. She served as Department Chair from 2015–2018 and teaches in the BS Community Development and MS City and Regional Planning programs. Her courses emphasize Community Engagement, Sustainable Community Design, Placemaking, and Collaborative Planning.

Her research focuses on environmental governance, community capacity-building, and sustainable urban planning. Publications span topics like green stormwater infrastructure, social capital, and adaptive water management, with case studies centered on Philadelphia. Recent work highlights community storytelling, leadership models, and equitable infrastructure distribution.
Dr. Mandarano contributes to local sustainability through roles like board member of Green Village Philadelphia and co-founder of the Urban Sustainability Forum. She has held leadership positions in Temple’s sustainability councils and task forces, influencing campus and regional environmental policies.
