Lynn Madden is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases, and a faculty member in Addiction Medicine. She serves as CEO of the APT Foundation, a nonprofit addressing substance use and mental health treatment gaps. Her research focuses on improving access to integrated care for marginalized populations, including those with opioid use disorder (OUD), HIV/HCV coinfections, and homelessness. She collaborates with global initiatives in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan to scale evidence-based treatments like methadone and buprenorphine.
Education: PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies/Public Policy (Union Institute & University, 2017), MPA (University of Maine, 1997), BA (University of Maine, 1995).
Research Interests: Madden’s work emphasizes implementation science, policy analysis, and reducing healthcare disparities. Key areas include OUD treatment retention, HIV prevention among people who inject drugs, and addressing systemic barriers in correctional and primary care settings. She has published extensively on stigma reduction, telehealth adaptations during pandemics, and opioid prescribing reform.
