Lynn Bry is a Professor of Pathology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, with affiliations to Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Host-Microbiome Center. She directs innovative research in host-microbiome interactions, metabolic modeling of anaerobes, and clinical pathogen surveillance.
- Education: Cornell University (BA), Washington University Medical School (MD/PhD)
- Leadership: Director of Massachusetts Host-Microbiome Center; Associate Medical Director of Clinical Microbiology services
Her research focuses on Clostridioides difficile and gut microbiota, integrating systems biology, genomic surveillance, and gnotobiotic models to study infection prevention and microbiota's role in disease. Recent articles highlight work on redox metabolism, microbial urease inhibition, and the One Health approach to toxigenic Clostridia.
Scientific awards include the 2021 Fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology, 2018 Research Leadership Award, and multiple mentoring accolades. She founded startups like iSpecimen and ParetoBio Inc., and teaches courses in anaerobe physiology and microbiome genomics.
- Clinical Role: Oversight of molecular testing for infectious agents and antimicrobial resistance programs
- Grants: NIH R01 awards for C. difficile redox metabolism (2023-2028), neurofilament biomarker research (2024), and host-gut microbiome interactions (2021-2026)
