Professor Lynn Ang is a Professor of Early Childhood Education and Pro-Director/Vice-Dean Research at the UCL Institute of Education (IOE), leading strategic research initiatives and overseeing research governance. Her roles include chairing the UCL Research Ethics Committee and directing the Centre for Doctoral Education. She has over two decades of academic leadership, including Head of Ethics and Governance and Head of the Learning and Leadership Department.

Research Interests: Professor Ang’s work focuses on early childhood education in international contexts, particularly in Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific. Her research examines cultural and policy influences on child development, early learning curricula, and addressing educational inequality. Key areas include the intersection of early childhood care with global challenges such as child stunting and conflict-affected regions, as well as translational methodologies for policy impact.

- Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PHEA), 2022
Leadership and Grants: Prof Ang has secured over £25M in research grants, leading major projects such as the UKRI-GCRF Action Against Stunting Hub (2019-2025) and the ShREC Approach initiative. She serves on editorial boards of key journals and global advisory roles, including UNESCO and the Royal Foundation’s Shaping Us Framework.
Collaborations: Co-Investigator in the Action Against Stunting Research Hub and leads an international collaboration with Tohoku University on fostering inclusive research cultures.
