Dr. Lynn Alden is a Professor of Psychology at the University of British Columbia (UBC), affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and the Department of Psychology. She holds a PhD from the University of Illinois, Urbana (1975), and completed her clinical psychology internship at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Her research focuses on anxiety disorders, cognitive and interpersonal processes, and treatments for social anxiety disorder and adult-onset PTSD. She is a registered psychologist and certified in cognitive therapy, with editorial roles in anxiety-focused journals.
Education: PhD in Psychology from University of Illinois, Urbana (1975); clinical internship at University of Washington School of Medicine under Joseph Becker.
Research Interests:
- Cognitive and interpersonal factors in anxiety/depression
- Models/treatments for social anxiety disorder
- Cognitive-behavioral approaches and interpersonal therapy
