Lynette de Silva is a Senior Lecturer and Director of the Program in Water Conflict Management and Transformation at Oregon State University’s College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences. Her roles include coordinating certificate programs, outreach initiatives, and collaborative research. She teaches courses on water policy, conflict resolution, and transboundary water management.
Education: M.S. Geology, Indiana University; B.Sc. Geology, Brooklyn College of CUNY.
Research focuses on water conflict transformation, gender in dispute resolution, and marginalized community resilience. Notable projects include the Transboundary Freshwater Dispute Database and the Vanport Mosaic Exhibit exploring the 1948 flood’s socio-environmental impacts.
Awards include the 2014 Vice Provost’s Award for Strategic Impact (Natural Resources Leadership Academy) and recognition in online teaching innovation.
Leadership roles include Faculty Senator for CEOAS, committee memberships in teaching and diversity initiatives, and global partnerships like the Universities Partnership for Water Cooperation and Diplomacy.
