Lynda Partridge

Dr. Lynda Partridge is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Biosciences at the University of Sheffield, specializing in immunology and tetraspanin protein research. She teaches across all undergraduate levels and holds advanced degrees in immunology and biological sciences.

Her research focuses on tetraspanin membrane proteins in health and disease, particularly their roles in bacterial infections, immune responses, and cancer progression. She investigates how pathogens exploit tetraspanin microdomains and develops antibody-based reagents for therapeutic applications, including antibiotic alternatives for Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections.

Her recent publications highlight collaborations with Sheffield Medicine/Engineering departments and institutions in Hyderabad and Bangkok, including MRC GCRF-funded projects on corneal infections and melioidosis. Key article themes span bacterial adhesion, cell fusion mechanisms, and tetraspanin-chemokine interactions in zebrafish models.
