Lynda Loewen is a Teaching Assistant Professor of Psychology at Canadian Mennonite University, teaching since 2009. She holds an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Winnipeg (1995), a B.S.W. (1987), and a B.A. in English/Psychology (1989) from the University of Manitoba. With decades of clinical experience, she integrates practical applications into courses like Counselling Techniques and Trauma and Resilience.
Her academic interests center on trauma recovery, attachment theory, and systemic relationship dynamics. Loewen explores how trauma (both minor and severe) shapes resilience and the foundational role of attachment in human development.
Outside academia, she practices therapy at Recovery of Hope in Winnipeg and is a member of the Manitoba College of Social Workers. She has presented on resilience and compulsions at conferences, including ReNew Pastor's Conference.
