Lynda Dalkin is a Lecturer in International Initial Teacher Training and Module Lead for the PGCE iQTS Subject Studies at the University of Sunderland. She brings over 35 years of educational leadership experience, including roles as Deputy Head Teacher, Director of an Education Action Zone, and Head Teacher in Cumbria. Her career spans strategic initiatives like the Specialist Schools Programme and collaborations with social care, health, and police sectors.
She holds a Professional Doctorate (ProfD) focused on leadership and identity formation from the University of Sunderland. Her expertise includes educational leadership, mentorship for senior leadership teams, and coaching programs. She currently teaches on the International Teacher Training and International Master's in Education courses, leading modules such as EDPM97 (Negotiated Individual Study) and EPDM12 (Leading and Managing in International Schools).
Her research interests center on leadership development and identity formation in educational contexts. She has contributed to school improvement initiatives and maintains a strong commitment to preparing future educators through her work with PGCE trainees.
