Lyle Ashton Harris is an Associate Professor of Art at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development. His artistic practice spans photography, collage, installation, and performance art, focusing on intersections of personal experience with broader political and social themes. He explores issues of ethnicity, gender, desire, and contemporary cultural dynamics through multidisciplinary works exhibited globally.
Notable exhibitions include the Venice Biennale, São Paulo Bienal, and the Whitney Biennial, with works in major collections like MoMA and the Whitney Museum. His 2017 monograph Today I Shall Judge Nothing That Occurs was published by Aperture.
