Dr. Lydia Nelson is a Lecturer in Practical Theology at Nazarene Theological College, part of the University of Manchester. With Caribbean roots and Manchester upbringing, her career spans English education, refugee support work, and theological scholarship. She is currently completing a part-time PhD in Practical Theology focusing on Black British Womanist theology.
Research Interests: Nelson specializes in liberation theologies with emphasis on Womanist frameworks, creative research methodologies, and cultural identity studies. Her work examines Caribbean diaspora experiences through theological lenses including theopoetics, embodiment, and ecclesiology, employing participatory and arts-based approaches.
