Lydia Kapiriri is a Professor in the Department of Health, Aging & Society at McMaster University, Canada. Her work focuses on health systems, priority setting, and equity, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. She examines how political and social factors influence healthcare resource allocation decisions, advocating for transparent and inclusive processes.
Education includes a Bachelor of Medicine from Makerere University (Uganda), a Doctorate from the University of Bergen (Norway), and additional training in public health. Her research spans global health policy, pandemic preparedness, and health equity among marginalized populations, including Black aging communities in Canada and vulnerable groups in Uganda.
