Dr. Lyda G. Garcia is an Associate Professor and Extension Meat Specialist at The Ohio State University, Department of Animal Sciences, within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). She joined in 2015 after roles including Visiting Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University and postdoctoral work. Her expertise spans meat science, food safety, and livestock production. She teaches undergraduate courses in meat science, advises students, and leads the Meat Judging Team.
