Luke Nottage is a Professor of Comparative and Transnational Business Law at the University of Sydney’s Sydney Law School and founding Co-Director of the Australian Network for Japanese Law. He also serves as Senior Fellow at Melbourne Law School (University of Melbourne), Associate Director of the Centre for Asian and Pacific Law (CAPLUS), and Honorary Professor at the University of Wollongong. Previously, he was a founding Board member of the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre and currently acts as Special Counsel with Williams Trade Law.
He holds a PhD from Victoria University of Wellington (VUW) and a LLD from Kyoto University.
His research interests center on consumer law, international commercial and investor-state arbitration, and legal frameworks in the Asia-Pacific region. He has extensively studied topics such as product safety, liability law, disaster management, and comparative business law across Japan, ASEAN nations, and other regional jurisdictions.
