Dr. Luke Hill is a Clinical Lecturer in Medical Oncology at the University of Southampton, affiliated with the Centre for Cancer Immunology and the NIHR Southampton Clinical Research Facility. He holds a PhD in cancer immunology and specializes in translational clinical research, focusing on gastrointestinal cancers and early phase immunotherapy trials.
Education: BSc (Infectious Diseases & Immunobiology) from King’s College London (2010), MBBS from Brighton and Sussex Medical School (2012), PhD from University of Southampton (2022). Completed postgraduate medical training in Medical Oncology (Wessex region, 2016–2022).
Research: Investigates the immune microenvironment in oesophageal adenocarcinoma and gastrointestinal stromal tumors, particularly CD8+ T cell infiltration. Collaborates with the Innovation for Translation Research Group and Oxford Early Phase Clinical Trials Unit. Current projects include early-phase trials of novel immunotherapies and personalized cancer vaccines.
Key Achievements: Awarded CRUK Clinical Research Training Fellowship (2018), NIHR Clinical Lectureship (2022), and co-investigator on multiple clinical studies. Supervises PhD students in Cancer Sciences and Biomedicine.
