Prof. Dr. Lukas Worschech is an Adjunct Professor and team leader at the Chair of Technical Physics (Lehrstuhl für Technische Physik) at the University of Würzburg. He leads the Service Centre for Research and Technology Transfer, focusing on advancing optoelectronics and quantum materials. His research emphasizes resonant tunneling diodes (RTDs), mid-infrared sensors, quantum materials, and polariton-based devices. He is affiliated with the Cluster of Excellence ctd.qmat and contributes to EU, DFG, and other funded projects in nanophotonics and quantum technology.
Research Interests: Worschech's work spans semiconductor physics, optoelectronics, and quantum phenomena. Key areas include mid-infrared photodetection using RTDs, quantum transport modeling, polariton condensates, and novel optoelectronic device development. His team explores applications in gas sensing, telecommunications, and quantum computing.
