Lukas Christinat

Lukas Christinat serves as a Lecturer for horn and chamber music at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, affiliated with the Institute for Classical and Church Music within the School of Music. He holds principal horn positions in the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, and Zurich Chamber Orchestra.

Born in Burgdorf, Canton of Bern, Christinat studied under Francesco Raselli at the Lucerne Conservatory and later with Hermann Baumann at Folkwang University of Music in Essen. He earned his soloist diploma from the Lucerne University of Music in 1989 under Jakob Hefti.

His research and artistic focus centers on Horn Performance, Chamber Music, and Natural Horn, demonstrated through global masterclasses and performances across Europe, America, and Japan.

Christinat's accolades include:

He actively contributes to musical communities as a member of the Swiss Brass Consort and Chamber Soloists Lucerne, while founding the Swiss Horn Days and directing the Obwalden Horn Group.
