Lukas Boser Hofmann

Lukas Boser Hofmann is a Swiss historian of education affiliated with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland as a Senior Lecturer and the University of Vienna as a Visiting Professor. He holds a PhD from the University of Bern (2012) and has held academic roles at institutions including the University of Lausanne, University of Basel, and Stanford University.

His research focuses on historical standardization processes in education, including measurement systems, curriculum history, math education, and the construction of national identity through schooling. Recent work explores educational statistics in nation-building (2023) and the visual dimension of writing systems in national identity formation.
