Luisa Gagliardi is Assistant Professor in Bocconi University's Department of Management and Technology, with additional affiliations as Research Fellow at ICRIOS and Visiting Staff at LSE's Geography Department. Her research examines how location characteristics influence individual decisions regarding innovation, entrepreneurship, and production geography.
Her work explores spatial dimensions of economic activity through several lenses: 1) How temporal constraints and time-zone differences in multinational corporations affect female career progression; 2) Leadership development pathways in industrial R&D settings; 3) Regional innovation system responses to global technological changes; and 4) Diversity patterns across organizational and spatial contexts. Methodologies combine econometric analysis of large-scale datasets with organizational case studies.
As Editorial Review Board member for Organization Science and Representative-at-Large for the Strategic Management Society's Knowledge & Innovation group, she contributes to scholarly communities studying geography-organization interfaces. Her teaching covers econometric methods and business economics fundamentals.
