Luisa Feline Freier De Ferrari is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Universidad del Pacífico, Peru, and a researcher at the university's Research Center (CIUP). She holds a PhD in Political Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), an MA in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and a Bachelor’s in Economics from Universität zu Köln, Germany.

Her research focuses on migration, refugee policies, human rights, and social inequality, particularly in Latin America and the Global South. She explores how migration policies are shaped by international dynamics, with a focus on South-South migration, Venezuelan displacement, and the impact of global crises like the pandemic on mobility. Her work contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and related social justice goals.
Her recent publications reveal a strong emphasis on qualitative and policy-oriented research, examining mental health among Venezuelan migrants, flexible protection statuses, and regional cooperation in migration governance. She frequently collaborates with international institutions such as the IOM and EU, and her scholarly impact is reflected in 89 publications and a Scopus h-index of 16.

Freier De Ferrari actively advises international organizations and is affiliated with major academic associations including the Latin American Studies Association (LASA) and the American Political Science Association (APSA). She is a founding member of the International Collective of Young Researchers on Migration (CIJIM) and an affiliate of the Refugee Law Initiative at the University of London. She teaches courses on international migration, migration and development, and political science, and leads a research project on the categorization of displaced Venezuelans. Her public engagement includes 47 media contributions, demonstrating her commitment to translating academic research into public discourse.
She has also served as a visiting researcher at the University of Marburg and as a peer reviewer for Migration Studies journal, underscoring her active role in the global academic community.
