Luis Lombilla is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Languages, Cultures and Religions at Missouri State University's Reynolds College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities. He holds three Master's degrees: MA in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language (Universidad de Alcalá de Henares, 2009), MA in Secondary Education (West Virginia University, 2007), and MA in Foreign Languages (West Virginia University, 2006). He is certified by ACTFL as an AAPPL Rater (2019), WPT Rater (2019), and OPI Rater (2016).
His professional roles include serving as Study Away Program Director for Spanish and Citizenship and Service Learning Coordinator for Spanish. Lombilla has received notable awards for his teaching and service, including the 2020-2021 FCTL Online Teaching Excellence Award and the 2015 Service-Learning Award. His teaching portfolio includes courses such as SPN 101/102 (Elementary Spanish), SPN 201/202 (Intermediate Spanish), and specialized courses like SPN 312 (Culture and Civilization) and SPN 325 (Spanish for Specific Purposes).
