Luis Fargier Gabaldon is the Massman-Beavers Associate Professor of the Practice of Heavy Civil Engineering at the University of Notre Dame, with a concurrent appointment at the School of Architecture. He has extensive practical experience as the Engineer of Record for over a million square feet of bridge superstructures and building structures, and has consulted across multiple countries in the Americas. Previously, he held academic roles at Purdue University, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the Universidad de los Andes.

He is actively involved in professional organizations, serving on the ACI Sub-Committee 318F for structural concrete foundations and as an Associate Editor for the ASCE's Practice Periodical on Structural Design and Construction. His fieldwork includes participation in the NSF-EERI reconnaissance mission following the 2010 Chilean earthquake.
