Luicy Pedroza

Dr. Luicy Pedroza holds dual roles as an Associate at the GIGA Institute for Latin American Studies (since 2020) and Research Professor at El Colegio de México's Centro de Estudios Internacionales. Her research focuses on comparative migration policies, diaspora politics, and North-South migration relations. She led the IMISEM project (2017-2020), analyzing migration policies across 32 countries, resulting in major datasets and policy reports.

Key academic contributions include pioneering studies on emigrant policies in Latin America, political transnationalism, and integration mechanisms. Recognized with the 2014 Dietrich-Thränhardt Dissertation Prize, her work bridges policy analysis and transnational governance. Teaching roles at Central European University (2013-2016) covered citizenship studies and comparative political institutions.

Her interdisciplinary approach spans Mexico's political dynamics, EU-Latin America migration linkages, and transnational social services.
