Pau Palop García

Pau Palop García is an Associate at the GIGA Institute for Latin American Studies since September 2020. His work focuses on Migration Policy, Diaspora Engagement, and Political Representation, with a regional emphasis on Latin America.

• Research Projects:
  • Lead researcher in the IMISEM project (2017–2020) analyzing cross-border migration policy coherence
  • Contributed to Polities beyond Borders (2014–2017) documenting transnational emigrant policies
• Publications: Co-author of the 2022 IMISEM Dataset and case reports on Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, and Brazil’s migration policies
• Memberships: Latin American Studies Association (LASA, since 2020) and Asociación Española de Ciencia Política y de la Administración (AECPA, since 2014)
• Teaching: Delivered workshops on Data Visualization at the GIGA Doctoral Programme (2018) and taught Introduction to Migration Policy at the University of Erfurt (2020)
