Ludo Juurlink is an Associate Professor in Chemistry and Director of the Leiden Learning Innovation Centre (LLINC) at Leiden University. He leads efforts to modernize academic teaching and innovation while maintaining an active research group focused on gas-surface reaction dynamics and catalysis. His affiliations include the Leiden Institute of Chemistry (LIC) and the Fundamental Research in Energy & Sustainability initiative.
His research interests span heterogeneous catalysis, surface science, and educational innovation. Notable contributions include studies on CO adsorption mechanisms, hydrogen dissociation on platinum surfaces, and femtosecond laser ablation dynamics. He has advised PhD candidate Sabine Auras and holds the Comenius Leadership Fellow Award for educational leadership.
