Lucy Richardson is a Lecturer in the School of Media, Film and Journalism at Monash University and serves as Deputy Director of the Monash Climate Change Communication Research Hub. She is actively engaged in research, teaching, and public communication on climate change, with a strong focus on audience responses and media representation.
Her research interests include climate change communication, audience research, eco-social psychology, science communication, audience segmentation, and attitudinal research. Her work sits at the intersection of environmental science, communication, and social psychology, aiming to improve public understanding and engagement with climate issues.
Lucy's recent publications and projects reflect a consistent focus on climate communication, public perception of energy transitions, and sustainable consumption. She has contributed to national and international research on climate audiences, including studies in Australia and Malaysia, and has explored media framing of renewable energy projects like Snowy Hydro 2.0.

She has been involved in multiple research projects as a Chief Investigator, including initiatives on empowering youth for climate action, countering gas disinformation, accelerating EV adoption via commercial radio, and building community water literacy. She has also contributed to public discourse through media articles and presentations at major conferences including COP27 and the International Communication Association.
