Lucy Orta is a Professor at the London College of Fashion and Chair of Art and the Environment at the University of the Arts London since 2013. She is affiliated with the Centre for Sustainable Fashion and co-founded the Studio Orta with artist Jorge Orta in 1992. Her work focuses on socially engaged art, exploring human survival, community structures, and environmental sustainability through textile sculpture, installation, and performance. Notable projects include 'Refuge Wear,' 'Body Architecture,' and collaborations addressing global issues like migration and climate change.
