Lucy McGoron, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor (Research) at the Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute, Wayne State University. Her work focuses on developing technology-driven parenting interventions for young children (ages 2-5), emphasizing practical strategies to reduce parenting stress and promote child development in adversity-prone contexts. She also explores parenting practices within socioeconomic challenges and parents’ mental health, using mixed-methods approaches.

Notable projects include the Parenting Young Children Check-Up funded by NIMH, which screens for behavioral issues in pediatric clinics and delivers targeted online resources. She also investigates how cultural programs (e.g., Black history home-learning) foster family bonding during crises like the pandemic.
