Lucy C Marriott

Lucy C Marriott is a Senior Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at the University of Sunderland. She serves as the coordinator for the EAP for BSc Nursing Top-up program and the EAP Library Liaison for the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellbeing. Her teaching responsibilities include module leadership for Level 1 and 3 EAP modules, as well as 'Discussion and Intercultural Competence.' She holds a Professional Doctorate to investigate transitioning from traditional to digital teaching and assessment methods.

Dr. Marriott’s career began in business management before transitioning to language education. She taught English abroad in the Czech Republic and Italy, later returning to the UK to pursue a Master’s in Teaching and Learning. She joined the University of Sunderland in 2002 and secured a permanent academic position in 2008. She is a member of BALEAP (British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes), actively attending conferences to stay updated on pedagogical advancements.
