Lucy Barnes is an Associate Professor in Law at the University of East Anglia’s School of Law, where she teaches Land Law, Trusts, Jurisprudence, and Research Methods. Previously, she held lectureships at Kingston University (2010–2012) and the University of Kent (2008–2010) and served as a teaching assistant during her doctoral studies (2005–2008). Her research focuses on inclusive teaching strategies, decolonizing pedagogy, and philosophical/literary engagements with law. She has presented work at conferences such as the Society of Legal Scholars and Socio-Legal Studies Association, addressing topics like decolonizing Land Law modules, graffiti in urban spaces, and socio-legal critiques of public policy. Barnes served as the Law School’s Director of Admissions until 2024 and is now the Director of Scholarship. Her contributions align with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to quality education and sustainable cities.
