Lucinda Holt is an Assistant Professor of Practice and Assistant Director for External Engagement at the Thomas Jay Harris Institute for Hispanic and International Communication within the College of Media and Communication at Texas Tech University. She holds a strong background in journalism, having worked as a freelance/stringer for The New York Times and as a public safety reporter for the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. Her expertise includes breaking news, crime reporting, and investigative journalism.
Education: Graduated from Texas Tech University in 2014 as a non-traditional student, focusing on journalism.
Research Interests: Holt’s work centers on journalism practices, public safety reporting, and the intersection of media and community engagement. She emphasizes hands-on learning and shares her industry experience to mentor students.
