Luca Simione

Luca Simione serves as Associate Professor of General Psychology at the University of International Studies of Rome (UNINT) since 2023 and as Researcher at the Institute of Sciences and Technologies of Cognition (ISTC) of the CNR since 2019. He holds dual academic positions, reflecting his interdisciplinary expertise spanning cognitive psychology and neuroscience. His academic foundation includes a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Sapienza University of Rome (2011), obtained with support from the Riken Institute in Japan, and a Specialization in Psychotherapy from the IPUE "Luigi de Marchi" Institute (2020).

Dr. Simione's research program centers on consciousness, awareness, and mindfulness, with particular emphasis on theoretical models of these constructs. His work has evolved to incorporate applications in climate change and sustainability, representing an innovative intersection of psychological science with environmental concerns. He is recognized for his technical expertise in programming and statistics, having developed sophisticated neurocomputational models of consciousness based on neuropsychological data.
