معرفی
Luca Rizzi is an Associate Professor at SISSA (Trieste, Italy) and a CNRS Researcher at Institut Fourier (Grenoble, France on leave). He leads the ERC Starting Grant Project GEOSUB (2022–2026) focusing on geometric analysis of sub-Riemannian spaces. Rizzi coordinates the PhD program in Mathematical Analysis, Modeling, and Applications at SISSA. His research interests include Sub-Riemannian Geometry, Geometric Control Theory, and Spectral Geometry. He has organized several international conferences, including the 2025 'New challenges across Analysis and Geometry' and the 2022 AMS-SMF-EMS Special Session on Sub-Riemannian Geometry. Rizzi holds a PhD in Mathematics from SISSA (2014) and an HDR (2021) from Institut Fourier. His work emphasizes curvature analysis, comparison theorems, and applications to hypoelliptic operators. He advises two PhD students and has received the SISSA 'Lutman Prize' for Best PhD Thesis (2015).
- Education: PhD in Mathematics (SISSA, 2014), HDR (Institut Fourier, 2021)
- Awards: ERC Starting Grant GEOSUB, SISSA Lutman Prize
- Grants: GEOSUB (€2.5M), organizing multiple international workshops
- Roles: Editor of Journal of Dynamical and Control Systems, Sub-Riemannian mailing list coordinator
His research explores geometric interpolation inequalities, measure contraction properties, and spectral geometry in sub-Riemannian contexts. Recent studies address curvature-dimension failures, Weyl's law for singular manifolds, and heat content asymptotics. Collaborations span global projects, including the 2023 Geometry and Control in Cortona conference.
