Luca M. Possati serves as an Assistant Professor in the Philosophy department within the Faculty of Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences at the University of Twente, Netherlands. He concurrently holds a senior researcher position for the international ESDiT (Ethics of Socially Disruptive Technologies) research program.
His research centers on the philosophy of technology, postphenomenology, and the intersection of psychology with philosophy of mind, extending into software studies and phenomenology. Possati maintains strong expertise in the history of contemporary philosophy, notably demonstrated through his monograph The Algorithmic Unconscious. How Psychoanalysis Helps in Understanding AI (Routledge, 2021), which bridges psychoanalytic theory with artificial intelligence critique.
Prior academic appointments include researcher and lecturer roles at Delft University of Technology (Netherlands), University of Porto (Portugal), and Institut Catholique (France), alongside associate researcher positions with Fonds Ricoeur and EHESS (School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences).
