معرفی
Luca Gemmi is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Bologna's Department of Economics. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston College and previously served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at HEC Lausanne, University of Lausanne. In 2021, he was selected as a Summer Research Graduate Fellow at the European Central Bank.
His research centers on information frictions and expectation formation in macroeconomics and financial economics, with specific expertise in:
- Empirical analysis of expectation surveys
- Theoretical belief formation models
- Household and market expectation dynamics
- Policy implications of biased expectations
- Information processing in uncertain environments
Recent publication trends reveal a concentrated focus on household belief formation during economic volatility, exchange rate policy effectiveness, and methodological innovations in survey research—consistently bridging theoretical frameworks with empirical validation using expectation data.
Scientific recognition includes:
- Summer Research Graduate Fellowship at the European Central Bank (2021)
As an active faculty member, Gemmi mentors graduate students in economics while conducting research supported by academic institutions and central banking collaborations. His work directly informs policy design for expectation management in macroeconomic contexts, particularly regarding uncertainty transmission mechanisms.
He maintains research operations within the University of Bologna's Department of Economics infrastructure, leveraging survey data and theoretical modeling approaches to advance understanding of economic cognition under information constraints.
