Luc Clair is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Winnipeg and Principal Investigator of Ag/Health Economics at the Canadian Centre for Agri-Food Research in Health and Medicine (CCARM). His interdisciplinary work bridges economic theory with practical health and agricultural policy challenges, with a strong emphasis on community-focused research in Indigenous contexts.
Dr. Clair's research integrates applied microeconomics with public health analysis, specializing in how water infrastructure investments catalyze economic growth in Canadian First Nations communities through improved nutrition and health outcomes. His work examines chronic disease prevention mechanisms and statistical modeling of health disparities, with particular attention to systemic barriers in resource-limited settings.
As Principal Investigator at CCARM, he leads the Ag/Health Economics research group investigating the critical nexus between agricultural systems, food security, and human health outcomes, focusing on evidence-based interventions for vulnerable populations in Canada.
