Luben Dimov is a Senior Lecturer at the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources (RSENR) at the University of Vermont. He joined RSENR in Fall 2018, focusing on teaching undergraduate forestry courses, advising students, and supporting the Forestry Club and Woodsmen Team. His work also involves collaborating with state, federal, private, and nonprofit entities on sustainable forest management in Vermont.
Dr. Dimov holds a PhD in Renewable Natural Resources from Louisiana State University (2004) and a BS/MS in Forestry from the University of Forestry in Sofia, Bulgaria (1998). His research explores silvicultural treatments, forest diversity-productivity relationships, climate change impacts, and forest resilience. He emphasizes sustainable practices and restoration strategies in his work.
Though currently unfunded, Dimov actively seeks motivated graduate students and post-doctoral researchers to co-develop research fellowship proposals targeting external funding agencies. These proposals typically align with his expertise in silviculture and forest dynamics.
His professional engagement includes advising undergraduate forestry students and fostering student-led initiatives through the Forestry Club and Woodsmen Team. He also maintains academic ties to his alma mater in Bulgaria and contributes to Vermont's forestry policy discussions.
