Dr Lowri Williams is an academic and educator at Swansea University, serving as the Welsh-medium Provision Coordinator for Initial Teacher Education (ITE) within the Department of Education and Childhood Studies. She holds a BA (Hons) and PhD from Aberystwyth University's Welsh Department.
Her career spans academic and media sectors: she lectured in Welsh/English at European universities including the University of Galway, University of Freiburg, and IUFM d’Alsace (Strasbourg). For nearly 20 years, she worked at BBC Wales' Education Department, producing bilingual resources across radio, TV, and digital platforms, while organizing pan-Wales educational events. She also served as Editorial Lead for Welsh content at BBC Wales and Qualifications Wales.
Her expertise includes translation and proofreading, having taught translation at the University of Freiburg and managed editorial projects for educational content. She is a fluent Welsh speaker and holds an office at the Keir Hardie Building on Singleton Campus.
